Elon Musk Responds to Media Bias Accusations

Tech mogul Elon Musk has criticized media personalities who have labeled him as a supporter of “far-right” figures and ideologies.

During an interview, Musk confronted Economist editor Zanny Minton Beddoes, who challenged him to address allegations of bias against mainstream media.

“I’d like to call out the media for your ridiculous portrayal of the far right. It’s misleading and just nonsense!” he stated emphatically.

Beddoes retorted, “You advocate for not just the populist right but also for far-right figures, including various fringe groups in some regions.”

Musk responded, “No, I support ordinary people. What you consider far right is simply incorrect.”

“Do you see yourself as an ordinary person?” she pressed.

“Absolutely!” he shot back. “If you look back 10 or 15 years, these policies were entirely normal. One amusing tactic I use is quoting speeches from people like Obama or Hillary Clinton to someone on what I refer to as the extreme left. They often react with outrage, saying, ‘Oh, this person is terrible!’ only to find out it was actually an Obama or Clinton speech!”

“It’s pretty wild,” he added, laughing.

Beddoes appeared somewhat frustrated by his responses. “Sure, I recognize that the political landscape has shifted. Yes, the Democratic Party has leaned to the left, but that’s not the crux of my concern,” she stated.

“Not on the right, but among regular folks… Here are some principles: we should have secure borders, safe cities, and prudent spending. Which of these do you deem extreme?” Musk countered.

Musk reiterated, “I want to hold you and the media accountable for your absurd characterizations of the far right. It’s simply wrong!”

“Make sure this part stays in!” Musk laughed.

“I’ll ensure it doesn’t get cut,” Beddoes replied with a chuckle.

A clip of their conversation was shared on social media by a UK parliament member labeled as right-wing by Beddoes.

On AI and Future Predictions

In a broader scope during the interview, Musk projected that artificial intelligence could surpass human intelligence in about five years. “There’s likely nothing AI can’t outperform humans on, except for, you know, being human,” he asserted.

He commented on a future filled with “incredible abundance,” where everyone might have access to “everything imaginable.”
