Elon Musk will dedicate constant attention to X, Tesla, and SpaceX while scaling back his role in DOGE.

Elon Musk’s Focus on Work After X Suspension

Elon Musk announced on Saturday that he will be dedicating himself to his work “24/7” following a significant suspension on X, impacting tens of thousands across the U.S. and more globally.

“Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in a meeting/server/factory room,” he posted on X.

The 53-year-old acknowledged that major operational improvements are necessary after this week’s issues, stating, “Failover redundancy was supposed to work, but it wasn’t.” Users started facing problems on Thursday afternoon after a fire occurred at a data center in Oregon that morning.

Musk expressed his intention to remain as CEO of Tesla for at least the next five years.

Earlier in the week, he shared plans to reduce his time with a government initiative known as Doge, which allows service as a special government employee for up to 130 days a year.

During a press briefing, Musk mentioned that he was contributing to Doge, which has resulted in significant budget cuts by terminating federal employees and contracts—amounting to about $160 billion. He noted that while he has been working “seven days a week,” he proposes to shift to almost one day each week.

“I’m willing to contribute one or two days a week and come to DC for a week or three days as long as the president wants me,” he said, emphasizing that it’s largely focused on volunteer organizations.

Musk feels a sense of pride in Doge’s efforts but noted, “In the grand scheme of things, we think it’s not as effective as I want.” He believes Doge should prioritize looking at costs associated with the Federal Reserve, aiming for a target of cutting $2 trillion from the U.S. budget.

Moreover, Musk’s involvement during the Trump administration has faced opposition from various groups critical of his political stance.

He recently informed Tesla investors about limiting his time with Doge in May due to issues with declining sales.

Musk reflected on his initial 100 days, stating, “The first three months need to be intense for understanding the situation and mapping government operations.” He described the federal government as complex, necessitating a focused effort to identify waste and fraud.

“The new administration resembles a startup,” he said, adding that they are adjusting to a better rhythm, allowing him to shift most of his time back to running his companies.
