After President Donald Trump claimed that Russia and Ukraine were “very close to a deal,” his billionaire adviser Elon Musk argued it was time to end the war. Musk, the principal of the Ministry of Government Efficiency (DOGE) posted on X as “Time to End the Massacre.”

Tesla and SpaceX CEO comments corresponded to Trump’s post saying the US president had arrived in Rome late Friday to attend Pope Francis’ funeral.
During the Russian-Ukraine War, Trump was a “good day for consultations” and both sides added that it was “very close to dealing.” He even suggested that Russia and Ukraine meet at a very high level and “finish it.”
Calling it a “cruel and pointless war,” Trump said he agreed to “most of the main points.” “Stop the bloodshed now,” he wrote, adding that the US is there wherever it needs to help promote the end of this war, which began with a full-scale invasion of Russia’s Ukraine in February 2022.
The post came after a three-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Friday with Trump’s mission Steve Witkov. At the meeting, the two spoke about the US plan to end the long-standing war in Ukraine, Reuters reported.
There has been no direct consultation between the two fighting sides since the early weeks of the ongoing war. At Friday’s meeting in Moscow, Putin discussed the “possibility” of a direct meeting with the other side, the Kremlin said.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said Putin had “constructive” discussions with Witkov, and the meeting also included discussions about the possibility of updating negotiations in person.
However, Ukrainian President Voldimia Zelensky rejected the proposal that Crimea would be considered part of Russian territory. Earlier this week, he claimed that Ukraine had “not allowed Russia’s annexation of Crimea,” and rejected the proposal.
Noting that it opposes the Ukrainian constitution, Zelensky said, “There is nothing to talk about here.”
