Elon Musk’s Response to Criticism About Nazi Salute with “Button to Kill”

Elon Musk Responds to Criticism Over Allegations of White Supremacy

Elon Musk is once again facing criticism over claims that he is promoting white supremacist signals. In a recent interview, he defended himself against what he described as a “relentless promotional campaign” aimed at discrediting him. He commented, “If they could press a button and eliminate me, they’d do it without hesitation,” referencing the backlash he received for a gesture resembling a Nazi salute earlier in the year.

“However, I’m not so easy to get rid of, so they opt for character assassinations instead. They’re exploring every possible angle against me,” he added, without specifying any particular individuals or organizations behind the allegations, although he dismissed “people who still believe in legacy news.”

This criticism stems largely from his controversial gesture at a Donald Trump rally in January, where he raised his right arm in what many viewed as a “Roman salute.” Despite his insistence that he does not support Nazi ideology, Musk has faced scrutiny for a series of posts on X that reference notorious Nazi figures. In one post, he suggested, “Don’t say hess to the Nazi accusations! Just do whatever! Stop catching your enemies!”

The situation intensified after his estranged daughter, Vivienne Jenna Wilson, publicly condemned his gesture. Speaking to Teen Vogue, the 20-year-old described the act as “crazy.” She remarked, “The Nazi salute was out of line. Let’s just call it what it is.”

In a previous appearance on the Joe Rogan Podcast, Musk addressed the controversy, asserting, “I hope you understand that I’m not a Nazi.” He explained that the gestures were made in a positive context and were not intended to promote any fascist ideology. Musk emphasized that true Nazism involved war and genocide, rather than mere gestures or styles.
