Fans React to Eminem’s Collaboration with Kid Rock

Eminem’s fans are expressing their frustration following Kid Rock’s announcement about a new Christian album that includes a feature from the rapper.

On Reddit, one user didn’t hold back, saying, “Eminem is featured on Kid Rock’s new Christian album ‘Halfway 2 Jesus’. I’m so disappointed in Em. He obviously knows better, yet he’d rather collab with this MAGA nut!” This post emerged just two hours after Kid Rock shared details about his album, revealing Eminem on the track list.

Interestingly, Eminem and Kid Rock have a history together; Kid Rock was featured in Eminem’s music video for “Berzerk,” and they collaborated on a 1998 track titled “Fuck Off.”

However, the collaboration has sparked outrage among fans. Many are critical of Kid Rock’s support for former President Trump and the MAGA movement. It seems that some fans are quick to turn their backs on artists who appear to stray from their political beliefs.

One Redditor lamented, “Woooooah, this is a massive disappointment.” Another fan reflected on Eminem’s past, noting, “The guy who made a song about fantasizing about murdering his ex wife is MAGA adjacent? Shocking. Absolutely shocking.”

Some fans are even considering deleting Eminem’s songs from their playlists. “I can live without Em in my playlist,” one person wrote. Another echoed this sentiment, stating, “Yup, just removed the last of the Eminem songs from my playlist.” It’s clear that many are feeling let down.

One user raised doubts about the legitimacy of the collaboration, asking, “That doesn’t sound right given how anti-TRUMP/MAGA Em is,” and speculated that perhaps Kid Rock used Eminem’s name with some sort of sample.

Despite the backlash, another Reddit user pointed out that Eminem has publicly stated he can remain friends with Kid Rock despite their differing political views. Eminem has been known for his opposition to Trump, even sharing a video in 2017 where he criticized the former president in a freestyle rap.

During the 2024 presidential election, Eminem also showed support for Kamala Harris. Yet, the two artists, both rooted in Detroit, seem to maintain their friendship through it all.

In a video from October 2024, Kid Rock acknowledged their friendship and said, “I love Eminem. We’ve been friends for many years. I don’t agree with his politics, but I do give credit to him and people like Taylor Swift for standing up and not being afraid to be vocal for that which they believe.”

Eminem responded jovially on social media, endorsing their shared love for the Detroit Lions and appreciating Kid Rock, who is actually named Robert James Ritchie.
