Emma Heming Honors Bruce Willis on Their 18th Anniversary

Emma Heming recently commemorated her 18th wedding anniversary with Bruce Willis, expressing her emotions amid his ongoing struggle with dementia.

To mark the occasion, Heming, who is 47, posted a nostalgic photo of the 70-year-old actor, showing him kissing her on the head. She reflected on their journey, saying, “Eighteen years ago, he became my boyfriend. I just kissed the top of my head and time stopped. I’m so lucky to have known this kind of love.”

This heartfelt moment followed a more poignant message where she spoke about how the holidays feel different since Willis’ diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia. Heming shared her thoughts on her blog last week, indicating that “moments that once brought simple joy may come tangled in a web of sadness.” She noted, “I know it because I live it.”

She further remarked, “I’ve learned that having dementia doesn’t make your holidays disappear; your holidays change.”

Recalling past holiday seasons, Heming reflected on how she cherished those times when Willis would engage with their family, making pancakes and playing in the snow with the kids. “Dementia doesn’t erase those memories,” she emphasized, “but it creates a space between then and now. And that space can be painful.”

In November, Heming revealed their plans to be together for the holidays despite the tough decision to have Willis reside in a separate home due to his deteriorating condition. “Bruce loved Christmas, and we love celebrating it with him,” she shared. Adding a lighthearted touch, she jokingly insisted on watching “Die Hard” because it’s considered a Christmas movie.
