Allegations Against Father Following Infant’s Death

A father, accused of killing his infant son, Emanuel Halo, has a troubling history. He previously faced serious allegations for severely injuring his newborn daughter, leaving her with cerebral palsy and dependent on care.

Jake Halo, aged 32, along with his wife, Rebecca Halo, 41, is currently being held on a $1 million bail as authorities investigate Emmanuel’s disappearance.

Reports indicate that Jake has a prior conviction for assaulting his 10-week-old daughter with his former spouse.

“Her name is Carolina. She’s alive but has been left unable to move. This was all due to long-term abuse,” a source noted.

Following investigations, Halo was charged with intentional child cruelty after his daughter suffered devastating injuries, including brain damage and multiple bone fractures. Documentation reveals the severity of the situation.

“This constitutes serious abuse,” commented District Attorney Mike Hestlin.

He continued, “People need to face consequences for their actions. Those who harm their children deserve incarceration.”

Halo pleaded guilty in 2023, yet in a surprising turn, received a minimal sentence of probation and a work release program instead of prison time. Hestlin criticized this decision, linking it to Emmanuel’s tragic fate.

“This is appalling. Mr. Halo should have been incarcerated prior to this tragedy,” he stated.

He expressed further discontent, arguing that had the judge acted appropriately, Emmanuel might still be alive today. “It’s truly heartbreaking,” he added.

On August 14, Rebecca reported that a stranger attacked her and took her child while she was changing diapers outside a store.

Authorities later arrested Jake, citing inconsistencies in their accounts.

Reports suggest that Jake confessed to a grim scenario, claiming he was coerced into disposing of Emmanuel’s body in a trash can. Investigators believe the baby may have suffered abuse leading up to his death weeks earlier.
