Epstein documents backfire as Democrats find themselves caught in their own snare

While Democrats seemed hopeful that the Epstein files would finally implicate President Donald Trump, Blaze TV host Sarah Gonzalez suggests otherwise. She implies that the president might have been strategically manipulating the situation all along.

Gonzalez pointed out that many were unaware they were walking into a trap by getting involved, referencing a clip of Stacey Plaskett, a Democratic congresswoman from the Virgin Islands, where Epstein’s island is located.

Recent releases of Epstein documents revealed that there was regular communication between Plaskett and Epstein. “They were actually texting during a Congressional hearing, and he ended up coaching her on how to undermine President Trump during the Michael Cohen testimony,” Gonzalez elaborated.

The irony isn’t lost on her: “It’s amusing that they keep trying to link Trump with Jeffrey Epstein, given that Epstein clearly despised him.” She continued, noting that Epstein did not have a friendly relationship with Trump, despite what some may think.

Plaskett has attempted to justify her connection to Epstein but it hasn’t been convincing. On the House floor, she remarked that she had once received a text from Epstein, claiming he was sharing information, though it wasn’t public knowledge that he was under federal investigation at that point.

However, in 2008, Epstein was already incarcerated for a prostitution case. “By 2019, it was common knowledge that Epstein was a bad actor,” Gonzalez pointed out, suggesting Plaskett struggled to maintain her narrative.

Plaskett stated, “I believed Epstein had information that could lead us to the truth,” prompting concern from a CNN host who reminded her that Epstein was a known sex offender with a detailed history of abuse.

Plaskett argued that there are many who have committed crimes, and as prosecutors, it’s essential to gather as much information as possible—though her logic seemed shaky.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries from New York also defended Plaskett amid scrutiny over her remarks, prompting Gonzalez to imply that Plaskett likely had closer ties to Epstein than she admits.

One email indicated that a Democratic fundraiser had invited Epstein to meet with Jeffries privately, suggesting attempts to raise funds from him. “Dear Jeffrey, I’m excited to work with Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, a notable figure in New York’s Congress,” read the email.

Another part of the email asked Epstein if he wanted to meet Jeffries for a closer acquaintance. “It’s astonishing that he was so desperate for support from a convicted child predator,” Gonzalez commented disdainfully.
