Sex-trafficking financier Jeffrey Epstein, who died in federal custody while awaiting trial, had a network of girls in Palm Beach, Florida, who recruited victims for him as far back as 2005, according to newly disclosed grand jury records from a child-trafficking case in which he nearly escaped light punishment nearly two decades ago.
The 176-page document contains new details about Epstein’s crimes, including details of cash payments to teenagers who recruited each other for Epstein’s misdeeds, as well as first-hand accounts from victims of child sexual assault and allegations of rape.
Palm Beach police initially investigated the case after a fight between girls at a local high school, according to records. A 16-year-old girl was accused of prostitution by a classmate and school officials later found $300 in her purse that had originally been given to her by Epstein.
She testified that before her first meeting with Epstein, she was instructed to create a false life story, pose as an 18-year-old, and receive $200 for a massage. She then said she was asked to strip down to her underwear and engaged in sexually explicit sex with Epstein.

In a court order allowing the documents to be released, Circuit Judge Luis Delgado warned that their contents were disturbing.
“It is widely acknowledged that Epstein is a notorious, serial pedophile,” the order states. “The testimony presented before the Grand Jury ranges from totally unacceptable conduct to rape. All of the conduct in question is sexually deviant, repulsive, and criminal. The details contained on the record would be outrageous to any reasonable person.”
Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts and Comptroller Joseph Abruzzo announced the release of the documents shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, hours after a new Florida law went into effect that legalizes the release of grand jury materials in certain cases. Grand jury proceedings are normally kept secret.
Prosecutors asked victims whether they knew they might have committed prostitution offenses and did not describe Epstein as a “pedophile” during grand jury questioning, according to records.

But investigators on the stand referred to a March 14, 2005, phone call in which the victim’s mother was concerned about her stepdaughter’s “sexual activity.”
“What happened is [redacted] They were fighting. [redacted] “School,” the doctor explains, “and then after the fight, they found $300 in her purse.”
“When questioned about the $300, she said she received it from a man in Palm Beach.”
The girl told detectives she was taken to the home to give a massage to a “wealthy man from Palm Beach,” whom the documents identify as Epstein.

Page 102 of the document states that a search of Jeffrey Epstein’s home turned up a dildo in his bedroom, and in previous testimony, one underage accuser offered to pay her an additional $100 on top of the $200 she paid for a massage if she could use a similar toy.
The documents also say one of Epstein’s victims is being questioned about money he was paid for acts he performed.
“And I was like, I got $300,” the girl said. “I got $300, and I was so excited.”
One victim revealed she was 17 when she had sex with Epstein, which happened the day before her 18th birthday. Another victim said she was in her early teens when Epstein used a sex toy on her to masturbate.

“And for my birthday he gave me a couple of them. [of] “They made me remove my bra and panties,” the victim said, and asked me to stay in the room while Epstein had sex with Nadia Marcinko.
When asked if she wanted to have sex with him, the victim said no, but that it would be a “stupid thing to do.” [her] To put yourself in that situation,” the jury was also asked, “Did he rob you of your personality, your being, your mind?”
“Yes,” she answered. The witness also told the jury that Epstein was well aware of her age at the time, but did not want to testify against him.
“I almost want to forget about it,” she said. “It was working until two days ago.”
The jury also heard that witnesses had seen Epstein sexually assault a stripper.

“She was yelling no,” the witness responded, adding that he later apologized and offered her $1,000 in return.
The documents also mention former President Bill Clinton, who knew Epstein, in connection to a girl’s mention of the former president in her blog, according to investigators on the witness stand.
“One of her blogs suggests she wants to meet Bill Clinton this week – and I say this in quotes – because ‘someone can get famous for sucking his dick, so I can get famous too.'”
She did not accuse the former president of wrongdoing or suggest they ever met.
Called back to the stand, Palm Beach Detective Joe Lickary testified that investigators found evidence that one of Epstein’s “assistants” (as his trainers were known) had recruited a 23-year-old woman for Epstein but that Epstein had rejected her.
“He told her the younger the better,” he testified. “She brought in a 23-year-old woman to give her a massage, but he said she was too old and he wanted someone younger.”
Epstein received a light sentence of just 13 months for his 2005 child sexual abuse convictions, which led a group of accusers to file a lawsuit against the FBI in February, alleging that the bureau failed to properly investigate him at the time, allowing him to continue to harm children and young women for years.
