Important Events
I'm waiting for it to start.
Our reporter Nino Butch was in court yesterday on the third day of Erin Patterson's murder trial.
Here is Nino's report submitted by Morwell to the Gippsland area of Victoria:
Day 3 Summary
Before today begins, here is a summary of what the ju judge heard yesterday:
1. A text message shown to the court on Thursday revealed that Erin texted Simon the night before Mushroom lunch, saying she spent “a small fortune” buying eyefillet steak for a “special meal” of Wellington beef. She said that after he refused the invitation, Simon wanted him to change his mind.
2. Simon recalled Erin having put dehydrated mushrooms in a muffin and had a “blind taste test” with her daughter. He told the court that Erin was “funny” to prefer muffins containing mushrooms, given that she doesn't like mushrooms.
3. Ju-dean also heard details about Simon's relationship with Erin with her parents. He told the court that Erin was particularly close to her father, Don.
4. When asked about Erin's self-esteem, Simon said his estranged wife was “not particularly pleased with how she looked.”
“I don't think she has high self-esteem,” he told the court.
5. Simon recalled Erin's mixed plate collection at his Leongata home. Under cross-examination, he described her collection and said there were several matching plates and single colorful plates.
