A former CIA official has offered a terrifying theory behind the “extremely disturbing” number of drones that continue to flood the skies of the Northeast as federal authorities dismiss public panic as an “overreaction.”
Former CIA operations officer Laura Bollman has written to the federal government about mysterious drone sightings, theorizing that the disturbing phenomenon could be part of a “secret exercise” set up by the Biden administration. Creepy drone sightings have sent New Jersey and New York residents into a frenzy for nearly a month. The mysterious public crisis began with a drone sighting on November 19th.
Since then, the number of drone sightings has risen to about 1,000 in New Jersey alone, according to state officials, and additional reports from around the country of mysterious flying objects suddenly appearing in the airspace have surged.
However, federal authorities say the drone sightings were actually simply misidentified as helicopters, Cessnas or other aircraft, and did not pose a danger to people on the ground.
FBI officials also dismissed the national hysteria, telling a similar story on a conference call hosted by Biden administration officials on Saturday. Fox News reported.
“We are doing everything in our power to determine the origin of that particular…drone activity,” federal officials said.
“But I think there was a bit of an overreaction.”
He added that since the first drone sighting in the Garden State, the FBI has received 5,000 tips, 100 of which require further investigation.
According to the report, a Pentagon official said the department had not collected any information suggesting the drone was “coordinating with a foreign actor or had malicious intent.”

Republican lawmakers, citing highly classified sources, have suggested the drones were made in China, Iran or Russia.
But the Pentagon denies that a foreign country is behind the drones seen flying near U.S. military facilities in New Jersey.
President-elect Donald Trump and several Republican lawmakers called on the military to shoot down the drone for further inspection.
“Mysterious drones have been sighted all over the country. Is this really happening without the government's knowledge? I don't think so!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Let the people know now or shoot them down!!!”
