Ex-lawyer of Jeffrey Epstein thinks prison staff may have helped with his suicide

Epstein’s Lawyer Discusses Possible Circumstances Around His Death

Alain Delso, former attorney for Jeffrey Epstein, suggests that while investors involved with Epstein may have played a role in his suicide in prison, responsibility ultimately rests with Epstein himself. In a recent op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, Delso stated, “The evidence clearly points to Epstein’s suicide.” However, he mentioned that there remains ambiguity about the possible involvement of prison staff. According to him, the broken security camera, the shifting positions of his cellmates, and the lack of guards lend some weight to the theory that others might have been complicit.

Epstein’s death in federal custody back in 2019 sparked a wave of conspiracy theories. His brother has been particularly vocal, disputing any notion of suicide. He referred to an independent autopsy conducted by Dr. Michael Baden, citing various factors including the absence of security footage and ongoing bail negotiations at the time.

Trump’s Comments on Epstein Connections

In related news, Trump has claimed that Republicans who have stood by Epstein might have been manipulated by Democrats.

This month, the FBI and Department of Justice released a joint memo stating they had wrapped up their review of Epstein’s files. The authorities maintain that the investigation confirmed Epstein’s death was indeed a suicide, consistent with past federal conclusions. In the op-ed, attorney Alan Dershowitz supported the government’s assertion that no “client list” existed, though he noted that names of accusers had been labeled as “clients” in court and sealed.

Reactions to FBI Memo

Dershowitz criticized the recent FBI memo as “silly,” claiming that the sealing of names serves only to obscure the truth and prevent public judgment. He knows the identities involved but stresses that those in power cannot reveal them without a court order.

Moreover, he pointed out that while neither federal prosecutors nor private attorneys can disclose names, federal judges do have that ability. He expressed that the media could petition to unseal information, allowing the public to draw their conclusions.

New Figures on Epstein’s Connections

Federal agents have recently reported that the number of Epstein’s victims may exceed 1,000, a far higher figure than previously acknowledged. The only confirmed co-conspirator remains his former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year federal prison sentence at FCI Tallahassee.
