Ex-Michigan staffer Connor Stalions gets blown out in first game as high school coach

Connor Stallions isn't off to a strong start in his new job.

Stallions resigned from his position on the staff of the University of Michigan football program last year after allegations emerged that he had stolen opposing teams' signs during games.

This year, he is the head football coach at Munford High School in Detroit, but his debut didn't go well.

The Stallions and Mumford opened the season with a 47-6 loss to Redford Thurston.

Social media was quick to criticize the Stallions.

“I feel like there's a joke in here somewhere.” 1 user wrote in X.

“He found out that you can't buy tickets to high school games through Ticketmaster.” Another person said.

Another wrote: “Mumford fans, give Conor time. Once he knows all about their plays, you guys will be cooking.”

Earlier this month, the Stallions avoided media interviews during team practice.

The Stallions have been at the center of an investigation into allegations of off-campus sign-stealing that led Michigan to suspend him in October 2023 and subsequently resign. An NCAA investigation also led to a three-game suspension for former head coach Jim Harbaugh during the team's national championship run last season.

Both Stallions and Harbaugh returned to coach in the NFL. Los Angeles ChargersBoth players still face penalties from the NCAA.

The Stallions allegedly had a plan to purchase tickets to games of Michigan's opponents and have spectators watch and videotape sideline signals from the stands.

Earlier this month, the University of Michigan received a draft NCAA notice of allegations that found evidence that the Stallions wore Central Michigan University uniforms on a sideline pass during a scheduled 2023 Chippewas football game against Michigan State, a University of Michigan rival.

The notice of allegations also revealed that Sherone Moore, who was promoted to head coach after Harbaugh's departure, could face a suspension and show cause penalty for allegedly deleting text messages with the Stallions.
