Ex-Nets guard Darius Morris’ cause of death revealed

Former NBA player and college basketball star Darius Morris died in May at age 33 from coronary artery disease. TMZ reported on Friday.He quoted the Los Angeles County coroner as saying.

The outlet reported that drug and alcohol use also contributed to the University of Michigan Wolverines star’s death.

Cocaine, hydrocodone and ethanol are listed as factors in Morris’ death. ABC7 in Los Angeles reported..

According to TMZ, the cause of death was ruled accidental.

Morris had a standout high school career at Windward School in Los Angeles before playing two standout seasons at the University of Michigan.

He entered the 2011 NBA Draft and was selected in the second round by the Lakers.

Morris bounced around the NBA before joining the Brooklyn Nets from 2014 to 2015.

He also played in the NBA G League throughout the 2018-19 season.
