Authorities report that a former player and captain of the Ohio State soccer team was arrested after an incident at a gas station where he allegedly pulled people from their vehicles and assaulted them. The details come from law enforcement officials.
Jordan Hall, 34, a former running back for the Buckeyes, faces felony assault charges. Reports indicate he repeatedly struck a passenger from another vehicle until that person lost consciousness.
Columbus Police received calls about the assault around 1:20 AM on Saturday.
When officers arrived, they found the victim unconscious and in critical condition, necessitating transport to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Surveillance footage reportedly captured Hall forcibly dragging passengers from their car and attacking them. Following the altercation, he returned to his vehicle and drove away, leaving behind the injured individuals.
In the video evidence, the victim was seen being knocked to the ground and hitting his head on the pavement.
The situation prompted the involvement of a homicide detective due to the severity of the injuries sustained by the victim.
Hall’s mug shot shows him with a broad smile, tilting his head slightly.
He played for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2009 to 2013 and served as a team captain during his senior year in 2012, though he missed significant playtime due to an injury that season.
Scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Hall is noted for achieving a personal best of 159 yards in one of his initial games as a redshirt. However, he didn’t pursue an NFL career afterwards.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Hall graduated with a degree in finance and has since worked in management, currently employed in the building maintenance sector. He also runs a small real estate business that aims to become one of the largest portfolios in the Midwest.
Hall is set to appear in court soon.
