Ed Cooley didn't receive a warm welcome when he returned to Providence Saturday afternoon.
Cooley dropped out of the Rhode Island school after 12 seasons and joined Big East rival Georgetown.
Despite leading the Friars to seven March Madness tournament appearances since the 2011-12 season, Friar Faithful spoke out about how he felt about his departure.

Just before kickoff of Saturday's game between Providence and Georgetown, fans in the arena attacked the former head coach with vulgar “F— Ed Cooley” chants.

Georgetown, once a perennial NCAA Tournament contender, has struggled quite a bit in recent seasons.
Under Patrick Ewing, the Hoyas have gone 75-109 over the past six seasons, making just one tournament appearance under the former star.
Ewing was subsequently fired. Villanova defeated Georgetown First round of the Big East Tournament.

But the Hoyas' past struggles appear to be reflected in this season. Cooley's Hoyas entered the day with an 8-11 record, but were 1-7 in conference play.
