A former Southwest Airlines customer service representative from Missouri has been charged with theft for allegedly printing $79,000 worth of travel tickets for personal and commercial use.
According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital from the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office, Brooklyn Jones used her position as a customer service representative for Southwest Airlines to commit the theft of travel tickets from August 2023 to September 2023.
According to the complaint, Jones, who worked at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, is accused of using the names of former passengers to redeem the coupons for himself.
The discrepancies were first discovered by officers who conducted an internal investigation before turning the evidence over to law enforcement.
According to court documents, Jones filed a plea agreement and also indicated he would forfeit any unused coupons.
Jones also allegedly led police to an employee locker where he turned in 119 coupons valued at approximately $36,300.
The former employee said he acted alone and sold the vouchers on four separate occasions, and that he printed $79,000 worth of travel vouchers.
Despite the written confession, Jones pleaded not guilty to felony theft on Thursday.
Southwest Airlines declined to provide a statement to Fox News Digital, saying it deferred to law enforcement.
