Caitlin Tao, 24, is a former substitute teacher at St. Paul City Schools in Minnesota, where she met the boy.
The school sent a letter to the teen’s parents Friday about the alleged relationship in an after-school classroom.
The suspect appears to be on the run after Ramsey County District Court issued a nationwide arrest warrant last week.
The boy reported the incident to police on March 13th.th About six weeks ago, he said, they slept together in Tao’s classroom.
She invited him to her home, but he declined, according to court records.
Just a few weeks later, in late February, Tao reportedly resigned and admitted what had happened to a social worker in Regions Hospital’s mental health department, where he was being treated.
Mr. Tao could be sentenced to up to $30,000 in fines and 15 years in prison on the third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge.
