Rep. Byron Donald (R-FL), who wants to become Florida's next governor and Sunshine State to become “global financial capital,” discussed how this will become a reality during his appearance. Breitbart News Daily.
Donald praised Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the state's success, noting that it serves as a “baseline for what a nation should look like.”
“My future work is to incorporate it and based it on it, let's add it around Florida's financial industry… Become the world's financial capital. Have that vision. Have that focus. Make sure every child has a world-class education that enables them to master mathematics, reading and writing.
“And the by-product of being a great state is the cost of living. Insurance costs have risen significantly. We have been able to stabilize those costs, which is important for all Florida.
When asked how that was possible, Donald said he was already beginning to leave New York.
“Yeah, it's already starting to move out of New York. I'm back to Covid, one of the things that happened, [is] People with means and access said, “Why am I still living in this type of environment where the government is just crap and I don't have the freedom I personally want when you have Florida, can I still do the same thing?”
“So, people have moved from New York, from Chicago to our state, and it's already beginning to happen organically,” he continued, explaining that Miami has become a kind of financial hub.
“Because Miami is an international city, Florida is truly an international nation and digital assets have found homes. So what I want to do is intentional about it, just like I want to move my Chicago merchantile exchange out of Chicago and bring it to Florida. But the same should be done in Florida,” the lawmaker said.

Donald also said he would like to be first established in Sunshine State, where Miami-Dade serves as a hub.
“But you know, the tech industry around Cape Canaveral is really growing and starting to shape. You can have a big tech impact in our state. You can have global financial capital. – It's really written in South Florida – And the rest of our state. And what you have is, once you move major capital and move high finance, that's how you actually take the nation away, it's the best state in the country, and you'll take it to new heights,” he added.
