Sen. Mike Braun (R-Indiana), Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) Breitbart News Saturday He warned against a bipartisan immigration deal, believing it would do nothing to stem the migrant crisis at the southern border.
Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) and Congressional Democrats say it will only reward illegal immigration and encourage more foreign graduates to take jobs from American graduates, Breitbart News agreed on an immigration framework detailed by the United Nations.
The agreed border agreements are:
1) Increase the number of green cards by 50,000 per year
2) Grant work permits to adult children of H-1B holders.
3) Grant immediate work permits to all illegal aliens released from detention.
4) Assigning taxpayer-funded attorneys to certain UACs and mentally incompetent aliens
5) Increase expulsion powers for a limited number of days only if the number of encounters exceeds 5,000 per day for 7 days.
6) Restrict parole for those who enter the country without authorization between ports of entry
upon Breitbart News SaturdayMr Blackburn, Mr Brown and Mr Scott said an immigration deal would not solve the immigration crisis.
Brown said the border deal “doesn't solve” the border crisis.
He continued, “I think if it was HR 2, it would probably be meaningful. If it was something else, we would have a baseline at a level that Democrats would probably be happy with in terms of the number of railroad crossings.” It's just setting.”
“These are ploys and tricks that establishment politicians have used for decades. We cannot fall for them,” said Sen. Hoosier.
“I've said all along that I can't support anything that legalizes illegal immigration,” Blackburn said of the border deal. “And we see that as something that some Democrats really want. They're trying to find a way to legalize illegal immigrants.”
“Matt, instead of talking about how the president exempts hundreds of thousands of people from entering the country each year, you talk about border security without addressing refugee status and parole issues,” said Blackburn, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. I can't do that,” he said.
Scott, who recently endorsed Trump at a rally in New Hampshire, said the immigration crisis is “the greatest invasion across our southern border in American history.”
“We want last-minute negotiations to stop. What's missing is confidence and what President Trump brings to the table in negotiations on border security,” he said.
“We want someone at the helm who, as the American people say, I trust what he says about the border. That brings confidence and that's what we need in Washington.” added Scott.
