Exclusive — Rubio Orders Reapproval for All State Dept. Travel, Conferences

President Donald Trump's newly confirmed Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ordered a review and reauthorization process for all planned official government travel for State Department employees, Breitbart News exclusively reported.

Mr. Rubio's move here signals to federal employees that the old business is over, with new controls in place across the federal government. It could also upset some career bureaucrats at the department, who routinely travel to and respond to other countries. But the effort signals a broader push by the new administration to align all federal government activities with President Trump's policy agenda and vision, especially on the international stage.

Rubio's executive order recognizes that domestic and international travel is essential to advancing the national interest, but also points out that what is needed is a clear sense of purpose and purpose.

To that end, Mr. Rubio is seeking review and reapproval of all State Department conference travel and other official government travel, effective immediately. Rubio is asking anyone who plans to attend a meeting or travel after receiving a telegram announcing the order to seek reauthorization from the acting director. He also said that all previously scheduled conference attendance and official travel could be canceled at the discretion of incoming administration officials.
