Exclusive: Safe House Project intensifies efforts against human trafficking, introduces a unique app.

Safe House Project Launches Innovative Anti-Trafficking App

The nonprofit Safe House Project is set to introduce a new app on Tuesday aimed at enhancing the fight against human trafficking. This app will allow users to report suspicious trafficking cases safely and anonymously, according to information from Blaze News.

Support from both lawmakers and law enforcement has underscored the need for simple reporting mechanisms. Features embedded in the app aim to improve the reporting process, helping to connect community awareness with actionable intervention. By integrating AI filters with human oversight, the app aims to direct tips to the appropriate authorities and link survivors to safehouses within the organization’s expansive national network.

“A straightforward reporting method is a game changer,” commented Kristi Wells, co-founder and CEO of Safe House Project. She noted that while a dedicated hotline was effective in the past, today’s human trafficking criminals are utilizing modern tools and technologies.

“The app’s purpose is to eliminate barriers,” added Brittany Dunn, co-founder and COO of the organization. She emphasized that human trafficking has long remained shrouded in secrecy. “Easier reporting leads to more reports. This improves transparency, accountability, and care. It’s not merely a tool; it’s a lifeline.”

Both lawmakers and law enforcement have expressed enthusiasm for the app, calling it a transformative advancement over the outdated trafficking hotline. Safe House Project is hopeful that innovations like Simply Report will contribute to the total eradication of human trafficking.

In a statement, a Republican lawmaker from North Carolina highlighted the shortcomings of the national hotline, stating that many victims remain unsupported. He called for stronger legislative measures, urging investment in frontline organizations and ensuring law enforcement has the tools necessary to assist victims more promptly.

Chief Jaried Lauhoff of the Biscoe Police Department echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that accurate and timely leads are crucial for addressing these urgent situations. “The simple report enhances collaboration between communities and law enforcement, ensuring that the safety and anonymity of survivors are prioritized,” he remarked.
