Exclusive — Sen. Tom Cotton Proposes Tax on ‘Woke’ University’s Endowments

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) proposed laws Tuesday that taxes “wake-up” college donations and cancels student loans for “crime” protesters.

Cotton has announced the Awakened Fund Security Tax (West) Act. This is a bill that launches a 6% sales tax on 11 American college donations, which uses revenue to repay borders and secures southern borders.

“We need to collect this tax on the donations of these schools. The tax on the billions these schools have collected will be sufficient to repay our borders or secure our southern border,” Cotton said in writing, saying many of these universities are the source of anti-Israel protests.

The excise tax applies to secular institutions with at least $11.9 billion in donations and secular institutions with at least $10.5 billion in donations, and also operates the state's contract colleges. Cotton's office believes the bill will generate $16.6 billion in revenue.

These institutions are Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Princeton, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern, Columbia, University of Washington, Johns Hopkins, and Cornell.

cotton suggestion The Campus Criminals Act's Student Loan No Act is a bill that prevents campus protesters convicted of a crime from receiving federal student loans or student loan relief.

“U.S. taxpayers should not undertake tuition fees for pro-Hamas protesters, criminals who taint university campuses, disrupt classes and put fellow students at risk. My bill would bring learning to the heart of our American universities and institutions,” Cotton said in a statement about the bill.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) proposed going after the Ivy League donations to pay off student loans and other debts.

“Want to pay for these student loans? – we shouldn't – we tax those large liberal Ivy League contributions, but that's not what we're trying to do,” he said. “We intend to remove this money from the skin of hardworking Americans in the form of direct payments or by borrowing more money to ruin future children and grandchildren in this country.”
