Exclusive — Trump Secures American Hostage Release from Afghanistan with Help from Qatar

President Donald Trump secured the release of American hostages in Afghanistan, a diplomatic source exclusively revealed to Breitbart News.

American citizen George Grezman was released in Afghanistan more than two years later. This release was negotiated through a mediator in the US and Qatari.

“Today is a good day. After two years of detention in Kabul, we managed to get the release of American citizen George Grezman. The Taliban government agreed to release him as a gesture of goodwill. @potus And Americans. George is on his way back to his family. @RealdonaldTrump, It made freedom and homecoming of Americans detained abroad a priority. It is an honor to support this important effort.” wrote Zalmei Khalilzad, former US ambassador to Afghanistan.

Katalis continues to promote communication and expresses American diplomatic interests as Afghanistan's American protective force. Diplomatic envoy Adam Berer is in close contact with his Qatari counterpart to negotiate the release of Grezman.

After weeks of negotiations, Katalis hit a breakthrough during a meeting with the Taliban.

Bowler, along with a team from Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will bring Grezman back to the United States through Doha, Qatar. Katalis provides logistical assistance for repatriation, including flights from Afghanistan, Kabul to Doha and, finally, to the US. Catalis provided medical professionals to monitor his condition when he returned to the United States.

This is the first direct involvement of the Borra with the Taliban. After successfully negotiating Grezman's release, he personally traveled to Kabul to receive the release of American hostages.

Qatar will maintain diplomatic channels with the Taliban after its control of the country in 2021, ensuring that humanitarian corridors remain open, providing a pathway for sensitive negotiations, including hostage releases and fostering international dialogue.

The James Foley Foundation, which aims to fight Americans being taken hostages overseas. explained Grezmann as a 65-year-old American citizen visiting Kabul when taken to the Taliban:

George was legally traveling in Afghanistan. He fulfilled his lifelong passion for visiting different countries and exploring different cultures and cultural artifacts. George has visited over 100 countries and fulfilled his passion for cultural exploration and earned his Bachelor of Science in Anthropology in 2017.

In January, two Americans, Ryan Corbett and William McEnti, also held in Afghanistan, were released.

As reported by Breitbart News, they were released 24 hours after President Donald Trump took office.
