A-B-C Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Star Eduardo Sol was stabbed to death at the age of 58 in his Palm Springs, California apartment.
Riverside County said TMZ reported that Sol died at Desert Regional Medical Center on Thursday, one week after being stabbed. The TV personality's mother also confirmed Sol's death to the outlet.
“We are heartbroken by the tragic death of our beloved Eduardo Sol,” his family told TMZ. “We know his kindness touched so many lives, and we ask that that kindness be returned by respecting our privacy as we process our grief.”
“Eduardo dedicated so much of his life to others that in lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in his name to the Lupus Foundation of America,” Sol's family added.
Sol's death came as police were investigating a stabbing at his Palm Springs apartment, where they found the TV personality after he called for help.
The Palm Springs Police Department said that when authorities found Sol on Sept. 10, he had been stabbed and suffered serious injuries.
Sol was rushed to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with serious but stable condition. Extreme Makeover The star is dead.
Police have not identified Sol's attacker, but TMZ reports that 34-year-old Richard Joseph Gonzalez has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of the TV personality.
Gonzalez had come under police scrutiny for calling 911 on the day Sol was found stabbed, claiming to be the victim of an assault the night before.
Gonzalez was arrested and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center where he is currently being held without bail.
As Breitbart News reported, California's Democratic-majority cities have suffered a surge in crime in recent years as residents have fled the state.
