Ezra Mansoor, 6 weeks, fatally mauled by family husky

A six-week-old baby was killed after being attacked by the family’s dog while sleeping in his crib.

Six days after being attacked by a seemingly docile husky at his home in Knoxville, Tennessee, toddler Ezra Mansoor died from his injuries on Thursday.

“Being his mother has been my greatest honor and the best thing I’ve ever done,” said his grieving mother, Chloe Mansour. He told WVLT.

Ezra’s parents said he had been hospitalized in critical condition for about a week before his death, with life-threatening injuries including bleeding and swelling on the brain.

The “completely unprovoked” attack came as a shock to the family.

The dog, which they had had for eight years, was one of two kept in the home, but neither dog had a history of aggressive behavior.

Little Ezra’s life was tragically cut short, but his parents, Mark and Chloe, are determined to help other babies in need by donating his organs, according to an online fundraiser.

Working to save the lives of others gave them peace during the heartbreaking grieving process.

“Don’t take anything for granted, even if you feel annoyed or frustrated in the moment, all those little moments are still so amazing,” Chloe Mansour told the outlet.

“Just pray for the whole family. They all loved him very much. I know they’re all grieving right now. We’re all grieving right now. It’s going to take us a lifetime to get over this.”

The dog was then transported to an animal shelter for investigation by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. It is not yet clear what the dog’s future will be or if any charges will be filed.
