President Donald Trump loves American fighters and has just made the biggest fighter decision in nearly 25 years. Awarding the F-47 contract to Boeing for the Air Force's next-generation air-controlled fighter aircraft will bring the US back to the dominant Air Force lead.
“Nothing will come to the world,” Trump said.
This was also the first major takeover decision and a bold decision by Defense Secretary Pete Hegses. By moving quickly, the Trump administration has corrected yet another cryptic Biden-era slip that delayed program decisions last summer.

President Donald Trump was personally involved. He's making air power great again.
I was a Biden man in the UN Security Council room. Please don't take over to Russia, China
The US has the Stealth B-21, the new sixth generation bomber, which first flew in 2023 and is now in low-cost production in California. Trump says the F-47 is in the air “in my control.” What's next? The brand new naval aircraft carrier fighter planes the Navy says will be unveiling later this year.
All of this won't come anytime soon. China has invested in multiple sixth generation designs, and at the end of last year it flew two advanced new aircraft instead of one. As I wrote on January 29th, the Chinese J-36 and J-50 planes sent shockwaves through the Pentagon as they were the long-term hunting and killing of American fighters and ships.
Here are eight things you need to know about the Air Force's latest star, the F-47.
The F-47 is fast. “It's at its peak, I'm over 2,” Trump said Friday. oh. He implies Mach 2 speed, twice the speed of sound.
Why should we assert the domination of industry in light of China-European ties?
The F-47 has a pilot. Yes, Elon Musk has been talking to artificial fighters for years, before he learned about the F-47. This is the crew, according to previous Air Force statements. But for me, I really don't have planes today, where we can't adapt to unmanned flights.
The F-47's mission is to take on China. China has been building aircraft, electronic warfare, long-range missiles and drones for years, allowing it to create defensive bubbles to lock the US Air Force from the sky over the Pacific Ocean. Well, that's a shame. Called the pervasive fighter, the F-47's mission is to put the weapon into a Chinese bubble and divide it.
Always stealth: Let's take another look at the image that the Air Force Chief of Staff raised in his oval office on Friday. You can see the careful shape of the cockpit canopy joining the torso. The dramatic sweep of the wing fades out for security, but the angle means the body shape of the delta wing chosen to increase the range. The trailing edge will not be revealed for a long time. Because it means you'll see many secrets of low observability for clever work with radar and engine exhaust. The F-47 may use advanced composite materials to replace metals in primary structures.

This is how we protect the US dollar's control in the digital age
The F-47 surpasses the F-22. “Level 5 is good, this is level 6,” Trump said. As Trump said, “Level 5” includes the F-35 and F-22. Luckily, read all your test data. What aerospace engineers call the “6th generation” not only stealth, but also a variety of other features, including networked information flow, smart weapons, and the capabilities of combat teams with drones.
When Trump says the F-47 is “producing numbers that we've never seen before,” he mentions the verification of its stealth “signature” through an operational assessment of the stealth test range, a key discriminant factor for Boeing's victory. The F-47 looks subtle on enemy fire control radars and when combined with tactics, it becomes extremely difficult to shoot down with targets.
Advanced engine. Mach 2 speeds, which include stealth and range, are courtesy of the highly advanced engine. Although details about the powerplant remain secret, the Air Force has invested in advanced propulsion for over a decade. Fighter engines need to produce incredible power in a very compact size. New technology allows for both supersonic speeds without afterburners and efficient cruise modes that extend the Pacific Ocean range while hiding hot infrared signatures. Expect the F-47 to have an engine that will make China cry.

The F-47 is almost ready. Yes, there will be more testing, but the F-47 is digitally designed and has been flying secretly since fall 2020. In the past, stealth aircraft took years to mature, but the F-47 breaks this pattern. Like the B-21 bomber, the F-47 must move quickly at the factory.

The award of the five-year $20 billion contract indicates production is near. Trump says he ordered “a lot.” Smart. The F-47 is needed in the Pacific as soon as possible, so you should purchase the F-47 as soon as possible to maintain the acquisition cost as quickly as possible. Sale to Allies – perhaps the top air forces of the UK, Australia, Japan, etc. – may be approved to buy the F-47
Lots of bombs. The F-47 is a highly maneuverable fighter plane, but can carry bombs as well. The F-47 designation reflects the rugged World War II P-47 Thunderbolt, lovingly known as “The Jug.” The first P-47 entered combat in 1943, and its turbocharged Pratt & Whitney R-2800 “Double Wasp” engine gave a 40,000-foot service ceiling with nearly half the bomb load of a B-17 bomber.

Like its same name, I have a higher altitude, and carry impressive weapons of air-to-air missiles and air-to-air weapons at the interior bays and external wing stations when necessary.
“You need to have it,” Trump summed. “We'll make sure the US continues to control the sky.”
