Families of Pahalgam Victims Discuss Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor Launched in Response to Terrorist Attack

New Delhi: Early Wednesday, India initiated Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terrorist camps and launchpads located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, allegedly linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. This military action was a direct response to the Pahargam terrorist attack that occurred on April 22, claiming the lives of 26 individuals.

The families of the victims expressed their gratitude and emotional responses to the operation. Asabari Jagdale, the daughter of Santosh Jagdale, one of the victims, shared her sentiments regarding the operation’s name, saying it deeply moved her. “Hearing the name made me very emotional,” she recounted. She recalled that during a visit from Amit Shah in Srinagar, the tributes paid to the victims were impactful. “I think that’s why the mission has such a name,” she added.

“The loss of their husbands and fathers wasn’t in vain. India has shown them real respect through these strikes. We appreciate the justice they delivered within just 15 days,” she emphasized.

Asha Naruwal, mother of Indian Navy officer Vinai Naruwal who was also killed in the attack, expressed her support saying, “My entire family stands with Modi Ji, who has sought revenge today. Today honors those who lost their lives,” she stated.

Sunil Swami, the brother-in-law of Vinai Naruwal, spoke about waiting for this news. “We were anticipating it. His wife, Himangshi, often asked when revenge would occur. It seems the government has initiated that action,” he remarked, expressing his trust in the government’s promise to retaliate.

Sanjay Dwyvi, the father of another victim, Shubham Dwyvi, took the opportunity to thank the Indian military and Prime Minister Modi for hearing the cries of the nation. He said he was continuously following the updates and felt compelled to express his gratitude, noting the impact of the operation on grieving families.

Manoj Dwyvi, Shubham’s uncle, felt justice was finally achieved for the victims. “When we lost our children on April 22, we believed a significant change would be initiated in our country, and we anticipated that Prime Minister Modi would take decisive steps against terrorism. He did follow through,” he remarked, confident that terrorism would be eradicated.

Meanwhile, Shubham’s brother conveyed that the entire nation is thankful to Modi and the military, affirming a collective sentiment that strength must be shown in the face of such challenges.

In a poignant moment, Sanjay Lele, whose son Hershal was also killed in the attack, described being informed about Operation Sindoor and expressed pride in the military’s actions.

Arashi, the daughter of N Ramachandran, who was a victim, extended her admiration to Prime Minister Modi and the armed forces, recognizing the significance of the operation against identified terror sites.

The Pahargam attack was reportedly aimed at harming local pony handlers and tourists. Haider Shah, father of a victim, articulated his satisfaction over witnessing revenge for the 26 lives lost. “We appreciate the government’s efforts,” he said.

His brother expressed gratitude towards the security forces and the government’s decisive actions. “This step was commendable,” he stated, reflecting a shared sentiment of pride and belief in the government among the victims’ families.

Manjunath Rao’s mother, whose son was also among the deceased, expressed relief, affirming that his sacrifice was not in vain and acknowledging the government’s recent actions.

As excitement surged among victims’ relatives, a celebratory atmosphere surrounded the notion of justice served through Operation Sindoor, indicating a collective hope for a future without terror.

At 10 AM on Wednesday, the Ministry of Defense conducted its inaugural formal briefing regarding Operation Sindoor, led by two senior female officers, marking a significant moment in the response to terrorism in the region.
