Family Guy Takes Aim at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Again

In its recent episode, “Family Guy” poked fun at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for the second time, which is interesting since it’s been a couple of years since the first jab. This latest episode aired on July 17 and is titled “Twain’s World.” In it, characters Brian and Stewie, voiced by creator Seth MacFarlane, embark on a time-traveling adventure.

During their journey, Stewie cautionary reminds Brian about the potential consequences of meddling with the past. Brian then quips, “You always say that, but do you hardly smoke history?” It’s one of those moments that feels like classic “Family Guy,” mixing humor with a touch of absurdity.

Interestingly enough, there’s a segment where the characters mention various historical figures and events, including, of all things, marrying Meghan Markle. Then, in a signature cutaway gag, we see Harry sitting on the couch, visibly annoyed. “Again?” he grumbles, hands on his hips, and turning toward the camera, he jokingly asks, “Yeah, all of your wives are like that. So, is it better?”

This isn’t the first time “Family Guy” has targeted the Sussexes. The show first addressed them back in 2023, where the main character, Peter Griffin, muses with a friend about his debts, referring to Harry and Meghan. The scene shifts to an animated poolside moment featuring the couple as a butler approaches with an envelope.

The butler informs Harry about a payment from Netflix, to which Harry dismissively replies, “Please leave it with the rest.” It’s one of those moments where you can’t help but chuckle at how they’re portrayed.

In another part of the episode, Markle gets a notification on her phone and exclaims, “Baby, time to do sponsored Instagram posts for $250,000 every day for Deltaco.” At that point, Harry sighs and remarks, “I shouldn’t have left the nonsense that was made.”

In a related note, “South Park” also took a swing at the couple earlier in 2023 with their “Worldwide Privacy Tour” episode. The depiction of Harry and Meghan in that episode, where they demand privacy while simultaneously seeking public attention, felt particularly biting.

Throughout that episode, the fictional couple navigates their newfound life in South Park, attempting to convince everyone that they’re just trying to be “normal.” Meanwhile, they end up causing quite a stir among the locals.

One notable change was how Harry’s memoir was humorously retitled from “Spare” to “Wag.” It seems like both shows capture the irony of their situation quite well, don’t you think?

Despite the comedic takes, sources indicated that Markle felt “upset and overwhelmed” by the portrayal in “South Park,” although they never publicly addressed their feelings about either show. It’s funny how cartoons can elicit such strong reactions, yet they’re often viewed as harmless fun.

Representatives from both parties have been quiet about these recent jabs, leaving the audience to speculate on their thoughts. Perhaps it’s best to just laugh it off? After all, it’s all part of the entertainment landscape.
