Jordan Battle Shares Telling Insight About Malik Willis
Jordan Battle, the Cincinnati Bengals safety, seems to shine on the football field, but when it comes to poker, well, that’s another story, perhaps. Recently, he let slip crucial information about Malik Willis’ throwing technique—information that the Miami Dolphins probably didn’t want to hear—just ahead of the Bengals’ upcoming game against them.
The Bengals’ coaching staff must be feeling a bit uneasy after Battle’s reveal, while the Dolphins took it as a welcome surprise. Head coach Jeff Hafley slightly downplayed the situation, mentioning that lots of quarterbacks have similar habits. Nevertheless, he acknowledged the usefulness of the insight. “It’s pretty common behavior, but we’re all for opponents helping us spot our own tendencies,” he commented.
Naturally, fans on social media weren’t kind to Battle. One user vented, “Why the f—k would you say this to the media?” while another echoed disbelief, asking, “Why disclose this information?” Someone else even joked that he might as well reveal all the Bengals’ defensive signals. A bit harsh, maybe, but there’s a point there.
Now, Battle is in his fourth season with the Bengals, having been drafted in the third round in 2023 from Alabama. Remarkably, he has not missed a game since entering the league, and this season alone, he has one interception to add to his career total of seven. In addition to that pick, he has tallied 25 tackles and two passes defended this year.
As the Bengals look to break their recent losing streak after starting 2-0, they’re hoping to take advantage of Willis’ throwing tell against the winless Dolphins. They’re set to clash on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, during what should certainly be an intriguing match.
