The Heisman Trophy Trust wasn’t the only organization to react to O.J.’s death, celebrating his sports career while seemingly ignoring Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre sparked a controversy when she said the White House would only express its condolences to Simpson’s family.
“Our thoughts are with his family. [sic] “Of course with his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” she said at a news conference.
“And I’ll say this: I know they requested privacy. So we’re going to respect that. And I’ll leave it there,” she added. Ta.

Simpson’s family announced Thursday that he died at the age of 76 after a battle with prostate cancer.
