Former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin said in an interview Tuesday that former President Trump's messaging toward women was “very immature” and highlighted its implications for this election cycle.
“At first I laughed and thought he was creepy, but then I thought about it and realized it was pretty immature to be saying this about women, that we're weak, we're submissive, we need protectors, we need defenders, and then you spend all day thinking about abortion,” said Farrah Griffin, who worked in the Trump administration. said CNN's Anderson Cooper.
“This just highlights a fundamental lack of understanding of why he's struggling so much with half the country's demographic,” she added.
Farrah Griffin says that if Trump loses in November, he will regret not having a female running mate.
“If Donald Trump loses this election, he's going to look back and think that one of the worst decisions he made was not fielding a woman who actually knows how to speak to living, breathing, ordinary women about the issues that matter to them,” she said.
Farrah Griffin also spoke specifically about reproductive rights, a key issue in Vice President Harris' campaign.
“My final point is, reproductive rights are important, IVF and access to the continuum of care that women care about, like abortion, are important. But the economy and national security are women's issues, and the way Trump talks about those issues is not going to sway moderate voters,” Farrah Griffin said.
