The fashion industry is undergoing remarkable changes, and top designers, who for years refused to collaborate with the Trump family, appear to be gradually distancing themselves from them.
After President Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election, many designers publicly said they would no longer work with First Lady Melania Trump. According to daily mailsome of those designers included Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu, Zac Posen, Tom Ford, and more.
“I am always honored when I am asked to dress the first lady of the United States.”
Marc Jacobs said he had “no interest in dressing up as Melania Trump.” Women's wear daily “Personally, I want to focus my energy on helping those hurt by Trump and his supporters.”
Melania Trump's stylist, Hervé Pierre, said he was turned away when he tried to shop for her at the American designer's boutique in New York, but declined to name the brand.
“I understand criticizing Mrs. Trump, but you can't tell someone who's coming to shop full price, 'You're not welcome here.' That was something I never expected,” Pierre said. Ta WWD.
Pierre reportedly purchased most of Melania Trump's pieces off the shelf, rather than working directly with the designer.
“I wouldn't do that for the good reason that the fashion industry is not very welcoming.” [of Trump]. It's not a secret,” Pierre previously said WWD. “Some people are very open-minded and can do something special. But a lot of people aren't.”
But the fashion industry seems to be warming to the Trump family.
On Sunday, Oscar de la Renta said: post X on the “custom off-the-shoulder crystal and pearl floral embroidered empire waist gown” the fashion house designed for Ivanka Trump to wear to the inaugural candlelight dinner.
Separately postthe fashion company also shared a photo of a gown designed for Vice President J.D. Vance's wife, Usha Vance.
“Incoming Second Lady Usha Vance wears a custom noir velvet dress with asymmetrical floral accents and a sweetheart neckline to the Vice President's Banquet,” the post reads.

Many people responded to the post by praising the women, calling them “elegant” and “amazing”, with some saying: boycott of the company.
Oscar de la Renta said CNN “We are always honored when we are asked to dress the first lady of the United States,” the organization said, adding that its mission is “to make her look and feel her best, regardless of politics.” Ta.
On Inauguration Day, Melania Trump wore a navy blue outfit with a matching brimmed hat, heels, and gloves. The ensemble was designed by adam lipps.
