Subpoena in Custody Battle Following Cheerleader’s Mysterious Death

The father of an 18-year-old Florida cheerleader, who tragically died under questionable circumstances during a Carnival cruise, has been ordered to testify in a contentious custody dispute involving his wife and her former husband.

Christopher Kepner is the father of Anna Kepner, who was discovered dead in a cabin on November 7. She was vacationing with her father, stepmother, grandparents, and some siblings when the incident occurred.

The FBI is currently looking into the circumstances of her death, which, according to family statements to ABC News, has been classified as a homicide due to mechanical asphyxiation.

While no one has been identified as a suspect and no arrest has been made, court proceedings between Christopher’s wife, Shawntel Kepner, and her ex-husband, Thomas Hudson, have revealed that their 16-year-old son is under investigation by the FBI concerning Anna’s passing.

Christopher Kepner is scheduled to testify on December 5 in Brevard County, per a subpoena issued by Hudson’s attorney.

After Anna’s death, Hudson sought custody of his daughter from Shawntel, asserting that Anna’s choices were jeopardizing their 16-year-old son’s future. In correspondence to the judge, he noted that the complainant could not interfere with the children’s lives, suggesting a lack of involvement had negative effects.

Additionally, the couple shares an 18-year-old son who currently resides with Hudson; he moved in after an alleged violent incident involving Shawntel and Christopher, as cited in court documents.

Efforts to reach Christopher Kepner for comments have not been successful.
