Tragic Family Stabbing in Virginia

A father in Virginia allegedly killed his wife and daughter in a shocking attack using a large curved dagger before being shot dead by police, according to authorities.

Chhatra Thapa, 54, was found stabbed to death early Monday morning at the family’s home in Fairfax, while his one-year-old grandson was present.

“Describing the scene as bloody would not do it justice,” Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis stated at a press conference.

“The amount of destruction and chaos this man created within his family is beyond comprehension.”

Officers arrived at the residence after reports of domestic violence and discovered Binda Thapa, 52, and her daughter, Mamta Thapa, 33, both suffering from severe stab wounds.

As police entered, they encountered Thapa attacking his stepson with a knife.

Authorities reported that Thapa refused to put down the knife, which led the police to shoot him.

A large, bloodstained knife was recovered near his body.

Binda and Mamta were later declared dead at the hospital, while the son-in-law was hospitalized in critical condition.

Remarkably, the one-year-old grandson was found unharmed in the chaos.

While Thapa died at the scene, the reason behind his violent actions remains unclear.

The son-in-law mentioned he was outside shoveling snow when he heard unusual noises, and upon rushing back home found his wife injured, prompting him to call 911.
