FBI Confirms It Is Investigating ‘Attempted Assassination’ of Trump at His Florida Golf Course

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has confirmed that it is currently investigating what appears to be a second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

“The FBI is currently in West Palm Beach, Florida investigating what appears to be an assassination attempt on former President Trump,” the bureau said in a statement Sunday.

As reported by Breitbart News, President Trump's campaign announced on Sunday afternoon that the president is safe following the shootout near the 45th president's home.

“President Trump heard gunfire nearby but is safe,” Trump campaign communications director Steven Chang said in a statement. “No further details are available at this time.”

Gunshots Reportedly Trump was fired on Sunday while playing golf at Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Donald Trump Jr. later announced, citing law enforcement officials, that a suspect had been arrested and that an AK-47 rifle had been found in some bushes at Trump National.

“Hey guys, here we go again! There has been a shooting at the Trump Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida,” Trump Jr. said. “According to local police, an AK-47 was found in the bushes. The Trump campaign has released a statement confirming that former President Trump is safe.”

“The suspect has reportedly been arrested,” Trump Jr. added.

This is the second assassination attempt that President Trump has experienced in the space of two months.

The first assassination attempt occurred on July 13, while the 45th President was speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

President Trump narrowly escaped death when he was shot in the ear as he accidentally turned his head to look at a graph that was being displayed at the moment attempted assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks fired his shot.

However, the assassination attempt left former Fire Chief Corey Comperatore dead and two other rally attendees, David Duch and James Copenhaver, seriously injured.

The U.S. Secret Service is facing strong backlash following the July 13 assassination attempt.

Ten days later, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned during a tough congressional hearing, accusing her of being unable or unwilling to answer many key questions from lawmakers about the agency's failure to protect Trump.

This is a developing story.
