FBI Director Kash Patel Uncovers Sensitive Documents Linked to Trump-Russia Probe
FBI Director Kash Patel revealed on Saturday that he has come across numerous sensitive documents concerning the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation. These were allegedly found in several “burning bags” located within a secure area of the FBI.
Sources previously used by Fox News Digital stated that these documents were categorized as classified or higher and should have been destroyed using the “Burn Bag” method. Reports indicate that multiple burn bags were filled with thousands of documents—including a classified annex to former special counsel John Durham’s final report, which contained key intelligence he reviewed.
Patel referenced these burn bags during his remarks, recalling his own findings from 2017 and 2018. “Back then, I proved that certain documents were fabrications created by corrupt officials in the FBI, misleading federal judges and illegally surveilling the Trump campaign,” he stated. He expressed frustration that the media previously labeled him a liar.
Now, Patel claims to have uncovered rooms filled with crucial files pertaining to the Russian investigation, reiterating that the media once again questions his credibility. “I believe the FBI might release more documents directly from headquarters,” he suggested.
The declassification of this sensitive information is reportedly being coordinated among key figures, including CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Attorney General Pambondi.
According to reports, the declassified annex is set to be sent to Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, ultimately destined for public release.
In a recent interview, Patel described his discovery of an unknown room full of documents and hard drives in the Hoover building, which he said had been kept hidden by James Comey and others. “I found a space that no one, it seems, had laid eyes on before,” he commented.
Patel and his team are presently examining documents related to early investigations, including the FBI’s original probe into alleged ties between Trump and Russia, which was internally referred to as Crossfire Hurricane.
While it remains uncertain what specifics the latest documents contain, insiders mention that these discoveries follow an inquiry initiated by Grassley regarding the Durham investigation. This investigation was launched after Robert Mueller concluded his lengthy probe into the origins of the Trump-Russia investigations, including alleged misconduct within the intelligence community during and after the 2016 election.
Grassley is currently reviewing the information provided by Patel as part of his investigation. Patel’s team is also preparing to submit additional documents to Congress, as part of this ongoing inquiry.
