FBI Launches Task Force to Investigate Tesla Terrorism

The FBI has announced the creation of a task force to investigate the rise in domestic terrorist attacks targeting Elon Musk's Tesla. The attack appears to be aiming to musk to head the Trump administration's government efficiency (DOGE).

CNBC Report The FBI is taking action in response to the escalating violence and vandalism directed at Elon Musk's Tesla. In a statement released Monday, FBI director Kash Patel announced the creation of a dedicated task force to investigate the attacks, labeling them as “domestic terrorism.” The task force will work with the Bureau of Alcohol, cigarettes, firearms and Explosives (ATFs) to bring the responsible person to justice.

The announcement comes shortly after a disturbing incident at the Tesla showroom in Austin, Texas, where multiple burnt Cen devices were discovered by bomb troops. This latest attack is just one of more than 80 reported cases of vandalism and arson targeting Tesla vehicles and properties in the US and Canada. The attack is believed to be related to the role of Tesla CEO Elon Musk as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a Trump administration initiative focusing on reducing federal spending and staffing.

In addition to the violent incidents, Tesla was also the target of peaceful protests in the showroom. A group called “Tesla Takedown” is calling for a nationwide demonstration outside nearly 300 Tesla showrooms in the US on Saturday. The group criticizes Musk for “destroying our democracy and using his property built in Tesla to do so. However, a spokesman for Tesla Takedown said the movement is non-violent and does not support violence against the company.

The escalating situation has attracted the attention of top government officials, with President Donald Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondy and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick publicly defending Tesla and denounced the attack. Bondy highlighted the recent arrests made in connection with vandalism, but Trump suggested that those convicted of such crimes can serve their sentences in El Salvador prisons. The president also introduced his support to the company by hosting an event at the White House featuring Tesla vehicles and announcing his intention to buy Tesla for himself and cyber trucks for his granddaughter.
