FBI not ruling out terrorism as a possibility after Tesla vehicles set ablaze in Las Vegas

Multiple vehicles at the Tesla Service Center in Las Vegas were on fire early Tuesday morning, and the FBI has not ruled out terrorism as a possible one. Officials say five vehicles were damaged in the incident, including two that burned up.

FBI Las Vegas special agent Spencer Evans told reporters Tuesday that the incident “certainly has some of the characteristics” of the terrorist attack, but it was certainly too early to say. The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force is currently investigating the incident.

“This type of violence is unacceptable regardless of where it occurs. Especially for those who may think that something like this can be justified or even potentially potential, we will come after you, come after you, find you, and prosecute you to the greatest degree of the law.”

Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk denounced the incident, saying it was “unusual and deeply wrong.”

Musk later retweeted another post, calling the incident “terrorism,” but the FBI has not yet officially labeled it.

Evans was asked about the possible politically motivating case given Musk's relationship with the Trump administration, but did not confirm whether it was the current theory of the bureau.

Las Vegas Metropolitan PD (LVMPD) Sheriff's Advisor Drikolen said law enforcement “will approach the business where the suspects wear all black and attack using Molotov cocktails and what looks like a firearm.”

Koren said there was evidence that police found an “unconditional Molotov cocktail” at the scene and that the suspect fired at least three rounds of different “Teslas.” He also said at this point that police believe the incident is isolated and there is no further threat to public safety.

Las Vegas police received several calls at PDT about 2:45am about a fire at Tesla Service Station. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, Koren said several vehicles were damaged, including two “flame-laden.” Fire Chief Jennifer Wyatt said the fire was included in two vehicles and disappeared before it reached the vehicle's battery compartment.

Senator Dem chuckled online to abandon Tesla and protest.

One suspect was caught on camera, but Koren said law enforcement has not ruled out the possibility that multiple people may be involved. For now, LVMPD is still working to determine who owns the damaged vehicle.

When asked if police were concerned about the Tesla Cybertruck fleet they were hoping for, Koren said he would not allow operations “ordered by criminals or potentially bad actors.” He argued that the CyberTruck Fleet “makes the fight against crime more effective.”

Federal authorities are also investigating a case in which two Tesla Cybertalk damage occurred in Kansas City police, Kansas City. I told Fox 4 One of the officers saw smoke coming from the cybertruck. He obviously tried to use a fire extinguisher, but was eventually called to assist by the Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD). Two cyber trucks started a fire, but KCFD was able to put them out.

According to CBS 8, both the San Diego Tesla dealer and the San Diego Tesla dealer were hit by vandals. The San Diego Sheriff's Office told CBS 8 there was surveillance video of the incident.
