I received a note from a viewer who said he works in a church in a state where an abortion amendment was voted on in November of this year. She asked the campus pastor if she could post a “no vote” on church grounds at the same time as distributing information to church members.
At first it was a “yes”, but after two weeks it became a discouraging “no”. The church's executive pastor (the other pastor's boss) got involved and said that the “lost people” might be deterred from visiting the church because of the sign, and in the name of good old meek and gentle… Because of Jesus, they had to come down.
If the teachings of the Bible are so clear, how can the modern church fail so spectacularly in the face of growing evil?
oh. Folks, this is some great horse manure. The signs were never offensive. They did not support any candidate or party. They didn't even threaten the church's tax-exempt status. I guess it didn't come with the free khakis or sweater vest.
Because of this, some people who claim the name of Christ are sometimes put on a train headed for a death camp and are told, “Don't talk about the gospel near the guards because you might offend them.'' ” I’m sure some of you will keep shouting. Cowards are now a food group.
But wait. Who does the Bible say will be cast into the lake of fire first? Oops. I'll give you a hint…

This is why the devil is attacking Donald Trump and not our pastor. Because for all his weaknesses and blemishes, he is far more of a threat to hell than the overwhelming majority of men in our pulpits.

Why does the modern church fail so spectacularly in the face of growing evil, when the teachings of the Bible are so clear? Many reverse the two most important commandments that summarize the Law and the Prophets. 1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind. Number 2: Love your neighbor as yourself.
What if loving your neighbor as yourself became the greatest commandment? God takes a backseat.
This is what the devil always does. The devil takes something good and distorts it until it is no longer recognizable. It's the same as the snake's “Did God really say that?” In the Garden, now applied to the Gospel. By reversing this, the very people the gospel is meant to save end up destroying it.
And it's no coincidence that a reversal of these two greatest commandments provides the means to make a nice and comfortable life as a pastor in the suburbs. No one really wants to arrest them. They won't offend anyone. These will tickle your ears and offer something almost indistinguishable from “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” So instead of disciples, our churches are full of mere customers and fans.
These are not hospitals for sinners in need of salvation and discipleship. They are a company with a Bible verse that says the customer is always right.
In short, these are death traps. With a cross in front and stained glass windows or not, those are the roads to hell. you should leave them. For God is not mocked.
