Fears rise in New England after Adriana Suazo's body is discovered in a small town linked to a serial killer

The discovery of Adriana Suazo’s body in a wooded section of Milton, Massachusetts has raised concerns across New England regarding a troubling trend of unexplained deaths in recent months.

Suzano, a 21-year-old from Boston, was located around 11:45 a.m. on June 1st, according to a statement from the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.

The authorities noted that there were no obvious signs of trauma, and the cause of death is currently under review by the Chief Medical Inspector Bureau.

This incident marks the latest in a series of disturbing cases.

Since March 2025, at least 13 bodies have been discovered across Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine, many found in isolated or forested locations.

This situation ranges widely—from the discovery of these 13 bodies to the overall issue of unexplained deaths in the area.

Even as local police departments handle each case separately, the clustering of these deaths has sparked public speculation about a potential serial offender.

However, law enforcement agencies have pushed back against the idea of a single perpetrator, pointing out the lack of forensic connections among the cases.

For instance, on March 6th, a 35-year-old man was found dead near the Norwalk River in Connecticut, and on that same day, a human skull was located in a wooded area in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Later, on March 19, the remains of 58-year-old Suzanne Wormster were discovered in a suitcase in Groton, Connecticut. While her roommate was initially arrested, he was soon released.

Dennis Leary, aged 59, was found dead in New Haven on March 25th, followed by 56-year-old Michele Romano in Foster, Rhode Island.

The grim trend continued through April. On April 9th, unidentified remains emerged in a Connecticut area. On April 20th, a body was retrieved from the Sheekunk River in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and another body was discovered on April 27th along the Connecticut River near Rocky Hill.

That same day in Massachusetts, another body was found in Tanton, and on April 22nd, the body of 45-year-old Megane Meredith was located near a bike path in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Most recently, on May 30th, the body of 34-year-old Jasmine Wilkes was discovered at Edgewood Park in New Haven.

Suazo’s sister, Melanie Pizarro, expressed her desire for clarity regarding her sister’s death, stating that she simply wants to understand what happened. “I’m not blaming anyone, but her situation raises questions. She was with someone when she died or shortly before. My family just wants closure about the events leading to her death,” she shared.

A vigil took place near the location where Suazo’s body was found, bringing together family and friends to pay tribute to her memory.
