A U.S. Court of Appeals has upheld an Indiana law that prohibits minors from obtaining drugs that aid in gender reassignment.
On Wednesday, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in a 2-1 decision affirmed the new ban, which had previously been blocked by a lower court. Opponents of the ban argue that it violates parents' rights and discriminates “on the basis of sex” by prohibiting treatment based on gender.
“Courts have long recognized that states retain close power to regulate the practice of medicine.
