Fedex cargo plane catches fire midair before making emergency landing

FedEx cargo plane landed at Newark airport In New Jersey Airport officials told Fox News Digital on Saturday morning after a bird strike sparked one of the engines.

The dramatic video shows that the plane's bank is correct when fire appears from the right engine and eliminates a large plume of smoke.

Witnesses said they also heard a big explosion, but in another video they said they were screaming “Oh, what a god!”

In another video, FedEx Cargo Machine You can see the engine landing safely while it is still in flames.

No injuries were reported and the plane landed at 8:07am, officials said. It is unknown how many people were on board at the time. Air traffic was temporarily suspended as a precaution at the airport, but operations have since resumed, officials said.

FedEx said in a statement from Fox News Digital that the flight was on its way to Indianapolis when the strike occurred.

“The FedEx Flight 3609 from Newark to Indianapolis experienced a bird attack during takeoff,” the statement reads. “Our crew declared a state of emergency and safely returned to Newark. We are grateful for the prompt action of our crew and first responders.”

Fox News Digital also reached out to the FAA for comment.
