In Wisconsin, law enforcement was on the lookout when a peculiar incident came to light. Authorities identified a “serial defecator” after utilizing drones and cameras to monitor the situation.
According to a social media update from Stoughton Police, they recorded footage of a 46-year-old woman on February 5th during their surveillance.
In a video shared by WISN, one officer assured her that their discussion wouldn’t be broadcasted on television.
“SPD uses drone to catch serial offender in city park,” the police announced emphatically.
Through diligent research and tracking, officers discovered that the woman had exhibited this behavior at the park during early mornings. This led to them addressing her concerning her public acts.
Following numerous complaints from locals about human waste and toilet paper found in parks, the police employed trail cameras and drones to pinpoint the culprit.
The acquired footage obtained by WISN showed officers confronting the woman around 5 a.m.
“Would you mind coming over to talk?” the officer inquires.
“Sure,” she responds.
“Can you see the drone directly above us? Is it watching you?” he asks.
“Yes,” she acknowledges.
“You’ve been doing this for quite a while now,” he commented.
“Yes, I’m sorry,” she admitted.
The woman explained that she jogs regularly and found herself unable to use the portable restrooms typically accessible during warmer weather. The officer instructed her to refrain from such actions on the trails and issued her a citation.
In the WISN video, the officer reassured that their interaction would not be broadcasted.
“I’m disappointed,” she responded.
Police clarified that concerns about her being homeless were unfounded.
WISN revealed that the individual was a medical professional but did not disclose her identity since no charges have been filed against her.
The woman is likely facing a $187 fine.
Stoughton is a small city with around 13,000 residents, located about 32 miles from Madison.
