Female powerlifter chases down crook who stole her bag — then gives him a black-eye beatdown

March 29 started like any other day for Miurel Vargas. That is, until I got word that crooks had broken into my car and made off with my bag and wallet.

During a frantic search, Vargas collided with a vehicle near 2nd Avenue NW and 22nd Lane in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, WTVJ reported.

But the video also recorded something else.

The video shows Vargas very likely spotting the scammer before and after the accident. That’s because she can be seen quickly getting out of the wrecked car and confronting the scammer on the sidewalk right next to the intersection.

“I tried to forcefully grab his wallet, but he wouldn’t let go,” she explained to WFOR. “So…he put his hands behind his back. [him]I thought he was going to pull out a gun or a knife. So from then on I started hitting him – it was either me or him. ”

“He was yelling that it wasn’t my bag and that I was crazy,” she added to WFOR.

Police quickly arrested 41-year-old Luis Machado, adding that he had disgraced himself for his troubles, WTVJ reported.

Machado admitted the wallet wasn’t his, but denied breaking into Vargas’ car, according to a police report, WFOR reported.
