Spain Wins the 2026 FIFA World Cup

In an exciting finish, Spain claimed the 2026 FIFA World Cup title, defeating Argentina at the New York/New Jersey Stadium. This victory was reported by FOX News Chief Correspondent Jonathan Hunt during “The Big Weekend Show.”

Ferran Torres, who emerged as the hero by scoring the decisive goal in the 106th minute, chose to honor President Donald Trump by donning a “Make Spain Great Again” hat during the celebrations. This slogan echoed Trump’s own “Make America Great Again.” Following Spain’s return home, tens of thousands celebrated with a victory parade, where Torres was seen riding in a car, proudly showing off his hat.

Interestingly, Trump was present to present the World Cup trophy to Spain’s captain, Rodri, and team members on the field right after the match. Alongside him were First Lady Melania Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, all witnessing a game largely dominated by Spain.

Torres’s goal was crucial. Had it not been for him scoring past Argentina’s celebrated goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez, the match might have ended with penalty kicks. There was a critical moment when a header from Nico Williams Jr. rebounded into the box, giving Torres the chance he needed. And he took it.

In a post-match interview, Torres expressed, “I think in the end, it was a goal of 47 million people.” He reflected on the joy of the victory and their connection to their homeland, despite being far away.

This marks Spain’s second World Cup win, mirroring their successful run in 2010. The mood back home, particularly in Madrid, was one of unrestrained celebration that began late at night and continues. However, following the final whistle, controversy did arise due to a skirmish among players from both teams, which is now under investigation by FIFA.

As Torres and his teammates relish their moment of triumph, they’ll soon be returning to their clubs to prepare for the upcoming season.
