Washington – Fetterman’s Frustration with Sanders

Senator John Fetterman is clearly not happy with Bernie’s endorsement.

Pennsylvania Democrats criticized Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Monday night for his support of disgraced Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner, especially given accusations that he acted as a “predator.”

“I want to call Bernie Sanders and apologize to him for backing this kind of predator more than anyone else,” Fetterman remarked on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” following allegations made by Platner’s ex-girlfriend, Jenny Racicot, who accused him of breaking into her home and assaulting her in 2021.

Fetterman insisted that Sanders ought to apologize to the victims, particularly the women who spoke out against Platner.

“I can’t understand why anyone would keep backing these individuals,” he continued, suggesting Sanders reconsider his allegiances. “Maybe he should reevaluate and stop supporting these types of communists,” he added.

Fetterman expressed disappointment at the broader support Platner received from Democrats, mentioning he himself had previously backed controversial figures like Eric Swalwell and Platner. “Someone like Platner is connected to complete filth,” he stated.

Sanders was among Platner’s initial endorsers, supporting him last August, shortly after he launched what seemed to be a lengthy campaign.

As of Tuesday morning, Sanders had yet to retract his support, alongside fellow progressive Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). His office did not respond to requests for comment from The Post.

In a previous statement to CNN, Sanders remarked, “I’m convinced he’s not a saint,” after another ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Fifield, accused Platner of physical abuse.

Sanders commented on Platner’s distressing condition, stating, “He went through a very bloody and frightening situation,” and acknowledged that he had his own struggles.

In contrast, Fetterman had consistently criticized Platner, mockingly referring to him as “P-Hustle,” a nickname tied to offensive online posts Platner made on Reddit.

One post suggested that Purple Heart veterans deserved death, with some arguing that victims of both war crimes and sexual assault “should bear some responsibility.”

Platner denied Racicot’s allegations but mentioned he was considering “the best path forward” after canceling several events recently.

“He’s like a dead man walking. I don’t understand why he thinks this isn’t over yet,” Fetterman said about Platner’s campaign.

When asked if he had anything to say to the candidates, Fetterman responded sharply, “I have nothing to say to that trash bag… right now, my thoughts are with the women he brutalized. They deserve recognition for their courage,” he added, encouraging those affected to reflect on their experiences.
