Fetterman Jokes About Being Shut Out by MSNBC
On a recent Tuesday appearance, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman (D) made a light-hearted comment about how MSNBC seemed to have “stopped inviting” him for interviews.
During his conversation with host Katie Toole, Fetterman touched on breaking with Democrats regarding the vote to prevent a government shutdown. After their segment, Toole expressed gratitude to their guests.
“I’m happy to be back,” Fetterman remarked. “Hey, come back. You know, I miss MSNBC. They stopped inviting me. I don’t know why.”
Toole responded, “No, it’s not. We always love being with you. You’re welcome to come over anytime. Just give us a call.”
Fetterman agreed, saying, “Yes, of course.”
Fox News Digital reached out to both Fetterman’s office and MSNBC for comments but had not received responses immediately regarding the situation. Toole noted that Fetterman’s claims were “not true,” yet it’s worth mentioning he hasn’t appeared on MSNBC since his exclusive interview with Stephanie Ruhle back in March.
In that interview, Fetterman critiqued his party for being disconnected from average Americans. He pushed for Democrats to adopt more relatable language. “What I’m asking Democrats to do is start talking like normal people. Most people don’t really understand what an oligarchy is, right?” he said, adding that many may not recognize how billionaires influence politics.
Fetterman also shared his views on political contributions, stating, “Okay, well, but here’s another little secret: Democrats, as you know, love billionaires who also donate to our causes and our party.” He distinguished between wealthy political donors and those in government who are mainly focused on personal enrichment.
Earlier this week, Fetterman was one of eight Senate Democrats who voted in favor of the bipartisan measure to fund the government through January, and he had previously supported a “clean” continuing resolution proposed by Republicans.
