Senator John Fetterman Addresses Protesters at “No Kings Day” Rally
Senator John Fetterman from Pennsylvania expressed his frustration recently when his name was booed at a “No Kings Day” rally in Philadelphia. Speaking on “American Newsroom,” he remarked, “I don’t know why Democrats are booing fellow Democrats, but that’s their privilege.”
Fetterman noted that many Democrats have voiced criticism about the outcry from some of their peers regarding a military parade held to celebrate 250 years of U.S. military history in Washington, D.C.
During the rally, he commented, “There were no goose steps. First off, stop comparing anyone or anything to the Nazis—that’s just absurd. This is about our soldiers, not occupying forces.” He expressed confusion over why parading to honor the Army would be considered extreme.
In addition, Fetterman reinforced his stance on international matters, particularly regarding Israel. He seems to diverge from some of his party lines, especially the viewpoint held by certain progressives, such as Senator Bernie Sanders, who introduced a proposal to prevent military actions without Congressional approval. Fetterman intends to support measures that address what he views as Iran’s nuclear ambitions, emphasizing that the U.S. cannot allow terrorist states to possess such weapons.
Furthermore, he clarified his position on immigration, stating his “absolute” support for targeting illegal immigrants who have criminal backgrounds in the communities he represents. He emphasized the need to distinguish between criminals and law-abiding, hardworking immigrants who should not be unfairly targeted.
