Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) doubled down on his support for Biden after he was harshly criticized for his performance in last month’s debate.
“I think that’s the kind of thing that’s going to happen,” Fetterman told Fox News host Jesse Watters on “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Wednesday. Biden is not so sharp He still holds the position of president as he did years ago, but his support for the commander in chief remains the same.
“I haven’t seen anything that would make me want to change that,” he said. “I’m not blindly following him, but I fundamentally believe he’s a great president and that he can ultimately win.”

Biden has rejected calls from his own party that he should withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, saying in a letter to House Democrats on Monday that he is the best candidate to withdraw from the race. Can he beat former President Trump? In November.
Since Biden’s disastrous performance at the CNN presidential debate in Atlanta, nine House Democrats and one Senate Democrat have called on Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential race, according to a tally by The Associated Press.
Fetterman acknowledged to Watters that he only watched part of the Biden-Trump debate, but he was certain the president had a “bad night.”
He said he’d spent the past year with Biden at various events across Pennsylvania and that Biden seemed “normal” and “engaged” to him.

“He was really popular and people wanted to take selfies with him and do stuff like that.[s]”So I just want to remind everybody that Joe Biden has done a really good job as president, and I’m going to fundamentally stay true to that,” Fetterman added.

“I refuse to turn my back on a great president. People watching this may disagree that he wasn’t a great president, but I believe he was a great president. And I think loyalty is really one of the last tools. It’s one of the last currencies in this terrible industry.”
